Play along with a quintet that has captured the feel of Evan’s great bands on 10 compositions: Waltz for Debby, Time Remembered, Turn Out the Stars, One for Helen, Funkallero, My Bells, The Opener, Orbit, Show Type Tune, and 34 Skidoo.

Bill Evans was born August 16, 1929 in Plainfield, New Jersey. Mr. Evans was (along with McCoy Tyner) the most influential pianist in jazz during the ’60s and ’70s, and since his death in New York in 1980, his influence has exceeded Tyner’s. Evans, who was the next step beyond Bud Powell, had a sophisticated way of voicing chords that has been adopted by a countless number of pianists.

We also recommend "The Bill Evans Fake Book", available on this web site, which has lead sheets for 60 Evans compositions.
