Most of these "solutions" alter a guitar's sound and response. If you have to play loud, use a solid body. Use an arch top in situations where you don't have to alter the instrument and can enjoy it as it is, without feedback. Chose the guitar and amp combination that works best with the venue, band, and type of music. Before you buy any archtop, take it to a gig and see what happens. There is big variance in the amount of feedback guitars produce. I used to have a solid spruce top Gibson Johnny Smith that would feedback at home in my practice room. I couldn't even take it to a gig.
